The first ever large-scale ministry event I was assigned to design for was In Jesus Name, Community Bible Church’s 2022 Easter series. The artwork was created to take people on a visual journey through the Easter story, moving from Palm Sunday to Good Friday to Resurrection Sunday.

To bring this story to life, I worked with paint on paper using balsa wood in a variety of expressive methods. For the main In Jesus Name piece, the paint was applied in gentle, sweeping motions with peaceful yet energetic colors, reflecting the loving and indescribable character of Jesus.

Palm Sunday’s artwork featured vibrant, textural palm leaves, echoing the shouts of “Hosanna!” as Jesus entered Jerusalem. Good Friday’s visual contrasted this with a violent, raw application of paint, representing the brutality of Christ’s suffering and death. Finally, Resurrection Sunday was celebrated with a triumphant abstract where the paint seemed to dance and rejoice in bold, powerful colors, proclaiming the truth that Jesus is alive.

The project extended across multiple platforms and assets, including promotional artwork, T-shirts, social media graphics, production visuals, event photo installations, and more, creating a unified and immersive Easter experience for the church.
